Mike is a UK Consultant Physician, co-host of the Respiratory Guru podcast, and founder of SCE Ready. A well-regarded local educator with a passion for teaching, he created Specialty Ready to help applicants translate real clinical experience into clear, confident, high-scoring interview answers.

Specialty Ready is built on years of hands-on experience supporting doctors through specialty interviews. Insights from real interview preparation, teaching, and in-depth discussions through our podcast have shaped how scenarios are written and how strong answers are structured.

Our scenarios and model answers are written by senior clinicians drawing on extensive experience of specialty recruitment, interview preparation, and assessment. Rather than scripted responses, we focus on clarity, reflection, and safe clinical judgement — the elements that consistently score well.
⭐ Clinical Review & Continuous Feedback
All content is reviewed by a senior clinician before release. We then test material with doctors preparing for interviews, actively listen to feedback, and refine the resource continuously to ensure it remains relevant, practical, and high-yield.
